So it’s been a while – a crazy few weeks in my human life. Since I last posted, I’ve handed in my notice at my day job to be a full time mermaid & photographer, and I am super excited!!

More on that later – first, I wanted to post a few images from the Merfolk UK convention I went to earlier this year. It was the second ever in this country, I missed the first as it was so soon after losing my Dad, but I was really pleased to get a swimming ticket this time around.

And what a day it was. I don’t know the final number of mers who attended, but to see old friends again and put names & faces together for those I only knew online, and to make new friends on the day, all around this gorgeous and bizarre interest of ours – it was wonderful. And very reminiscent of other gatherings & cons around my other niche interests – model horses springs immediately to mind.

It was so lovely to see everyone’s tails in real life too – and I squeaked with excitement at the other Finfolk fabric tails I got to ‘meet’ during the day. Anyway, first up, here is the group shot by Paul Dale:
